THB #1 Cheese Swirled Chocolate Bundt Cake

I'm so excited to participate in The Home Bakers, a new baking event organized by Joyce
Well, I am always excited with these kinds of events, in fact :)

This event is great, there's no excuse to build dust on the cookbooks that I have
You know, we always drool a pail whenever we stand in front of cookery section book shelves everytime we visit a book shop, grabbing one or two copies among so many we wish we could bring home too, only to try one or two recipes from them and then most of the time kept in our book shelf, long time untouched, sometimes forgotten we own them LOL
Thanks Joyce to initiate this, perhaps I should kick my butt to do the same myself for my other cookbooks, but of course doing it together will be more fun and motivating, and sharing experiences is priceless :)

Another thing also, introducing me to recipe books I perhaps would never think of buying, or I never get to know, just like this book I just got, Coffee Cakes by Lou Seibert Pappas
Now I know that inside of this book is jewel!
So, it's such a pleasure to be able to open it in regular basis :)

The first suggested bake was this chocolate cheese cake
My family loves anything with chocolate and cheese, so I decided to bake 3/4 recipe, after reading from the Q & A that it's a huge cake
But I still made 1 recipe for the cheese and chocolate chips filling, cos I love anything with lots of filling LOL

Unfortunately, I don't own bundt pan (yet ^_^), so I used my heart shaped pan, and I managed to make 6 cupcakes from the remaining batter
Oh but something happened to the left heart during cooling off, it's badly cut by my impatient want to eat now chocolate lover Abby, so unsightly that it didnt help even after dusting with icing sugar wew.... So I decided to cut into half and presented the right heart, my broken heart :P

Personally, I didn't find this cake up to my liking at my first bite when I cut after it's just cooled off. It's a little dry and rough, even though it had yummy taste, after all it's chocolate and cheese combination, I can never complain :)
But when I tried again the next morning, it's like eating a totally different cake
It's soft, more moist and chocolaty, with perfect sweetness ( 1 recipe used 2 cups of sugar, I reduced to 1 1/2 cup), and the oh so yummy cheese and chocolate chips mixture in between...hhhmmmm :)
Oh btw, I didn't mix in any walnuts since we're not into cakes with nuts (1 recipe should use 3/4 cup chopped walnuts)

For full recipe, please view Joyce's site

Please visit The Home Baker, you'll see other members' bakes and really hope you can join in the fun too!
