Soy and Honey Marinated Flank Steak

I adapted a recipe I found on Simply Recipes for marinated flank steak. The marinade was a snap to put together and made the flank steak taste extra flavorful and delicious. I love the combination of soy, honey, garlic and red wine vinegar. The steak was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. I used my grill pan because I was feeling lazy but I am certain this steak would be amazing if grilled.

Soy and Honey Marinated Flank Steak:

Original recipe by Simply Recipes
  • 1 lb of flank steak
  • 2 tbsp + 2 tsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp + 2 tsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
  • Sea salt and freshly cracked pepper
Combine the soy sauce, olive oil, honey, red wine vinegar, minced garlic, and cracked pepper together in a large zip lock bag. Seal and shake to mix thoroughly. Add the flank steak and let marinate for at least 2 hours up to 24 hours.

Remove the meat from the refrigerator at least 20 minutes prior to grilling/cooking. Preheat the grill pan over medium high heat and coat with cooking spray. Once the pan is hot, add the flank steak and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side or until it's cooked to your desired degree of doneness. Let the meat rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing it against the grain. Enjoy.
