Deluxe Pizza

I wasn't in the mood to make a big dinner after a day of back to school shopping. The kids requested pizza so we grabbed some dough and sauce at the store then used ingredients I had on hand for the toppings. Our pizza was filled with turkey Italian sausage, turkey pepperoni, mushrooms, pineapple, onion, artichoke hearts, black olives, and fresh tomatoes. It was hearty, filling, and so delicious - we all loved it. You can't beat a quick and easy dinner after a busy day.

  • Cooking spray
  • Corn meal
  • Pizza dough
  • Pizza sauce
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • 3 links of turkey Italian sausage, removed from casings and cooked
  • Handful of turkey pepperoni
  • Sliced mushrooms, sliced very thin
  • Frozen artichoke hearts, thawed and cut in half
  • Fresh pineapple, chopped
  • Sweet yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • Black olives
  • Fresh tomato, sliced
Remove the turkey Italian sausage from their casings then cook it in a skillet over medium high heat until cooked through and in crumbles.

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Spread dough on a pizza sheet that has been coated with cooking spray and a sprinkle of corn meal. Spoon the sauce on the dough and spread evenly. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese all over followed by the sausage, pepperoni, onions, artichoke hearts, pineapple, mushrooms, and black olives.

Place pizza into the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until cheese is bubbling and the crust is golden brown. Remove from the oven, add the fresh tomato slices on top. Slice and serve. Enjoy.
